Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, God gives us a love story that feels like a fairy tale.
This Is Us
Doug and Richard met at a BBQ in June of 2025 at Commons Church in Calgary. The connection was immediate - Both have similar life stories.
​
Doug invited Richard to his home for dinner. Richard was nervous not knowing if this was a date or a social event. It was a date that certainly impressed Richard with Doug’s great dinner and charming personality and character.
​
Richard surprised Doug by proposing marriage in October in a friend’s hot tub. He said yes!
​
A faith in God is important to both and they are richly blessed by His affirming love for their relationship.
​
They are very excited to celebrate their wedding with special, supportive friends and family.
